The Chengdu National Agricultural Science And Technology Center(below as “Center”) serves as a national sci-tech innovation platform jointly created by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, and the core fulcrum of the “Chengdu National Modern Agricultural Industry Science and Technology Innovation Center” approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Cultivate the historical mission of communicating with the international community, serving the whole Sichuan, radiating the southwest and even the countries along the “Belt and Road”.
The Center is composed of leafy vegetable factory, fruit and vegetable plant factory, vertical farming, mobile plant factory, urban community gardening and smart agriculture. Through implementing VANQ LED technology with other automation technology into the entire process from sowing to harvesting of vegetables, the leafy vegetable factory has significantly improved labor productivity, saving 90% of water and 70% of fertilizer, achieving uninterrupted production throughout the year. The annual output of leafy vegetables is 400 tons per hectare, which is more than 5 times that of traditional open field cultivation.
