Germination is the process by which new plants start to grow from seeds. Germination, also known as “popping”, is the first step to start growing cannabis. In this guide, we teach you how to germinate cannabis seeds in the simplest way.
How to find healthy marijuana seeds
Since the cannabis is grown from cannabis seeds, many people want to know how to identify healthy seeds. To be honest, it is difficult to judge whether a plant is healthy by its seeds alone. However, there are some telling signs. In general, light green, white or very black cannabis seeds may be difficult to germinate well. However, this does not always reflect the results of the factory and is always worth trying. If you cannot use all seeds, store them in a cool, dry place until you can. The refrigerator is a good ideal.
How to GerminateCannabis seeds
Three things that cannabis seeds need to germinate: water, heat and air. Therefore, there are many ways to germinate seeds. The most common and simplest method involves the use of paper towels soaked in water.
Things you will need:
- Two clean plates
- Paper towels
Step 1: Soaked paper towels
Take four paper towels and soak them in distilled water. Sheets should be soaked, but do not allow excess water to run away.
Step 2: Put the cannabis seeds
Take two paper towels and place them on the plate. Then, space the cannabis seeds at least an inch from each other and cover them with the remaining two soaked paper towels.
Step 3: Make a dark environment
To create a dark, protected space, take another plate and turn it over to cover the seeds (such as the dome).
Step 4: Temperature and humidity
Make sure the area where they live is between 70-90°F. If the paper towel is too dry, you need to sprinkle some water.
After completing these steps, it is time to wait. You can check the paper towels to make sure they are still saturated, and if they seem to lose moisture, you can add more water to keep the seeds happy.
Some seeds germinate very quickly, while others may take several days. You know that once the seed splits and a new sprout appears, it has already sprouted.
Transplanting germinated seeds
Once your seeds germinate, you should plant them. The sprouts need to be moved during the transplantation process, please be careful, because the main root is very fragile. If you touch or destroy it, it may survive, but it will definitely hinder the growth of the plant.
When sowing, put Bai Gen down. It should be placed approximately half an inch to an inch into the growth medium (knuckle depth). The top of the seed should be below the surface. Cover gently and wait for about a week (up to 10 days) for the seedlings to break through the soil. It may appear on the same day-but if it is not browsed after 10 days, it may not survive.
If your seeds hang upside down by accident, don’t worry. Nature has a way to exercise itself. As long as there is enough space for the roots to eventually grow, they will. Give it some time and let it do it!
